Plastic Technician

Awesome Supply is seeking a skilled and dedicated Plastic Technician to join our team in Clarinda, VIC. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our manufacturing operations, ensuring the efficient production and quality of plastic components and products. As a Plastic Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining specialised plastic manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting production issues, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This position is essential to our operational success and directly contributes to meeting our production targets and customer satisfaction objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Operate plastic manufacturing machinery, including injection moulding, extrusion, and thermoforming equipment, in accordance with standard operating procedures
• Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality specifications and customer requirements
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of manufacturing equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, making adjustments as needed or reporting issues to senior technicians
• Inspect finished products for defects and ensure proper packaging and labelling
• Record production data accurately and maintain comprehensive records of daily operations
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised work environment
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production schedules and quality targets
• Assist with the setup of production runs and material preparation

What we're looking for

• Proven experience operating plastic manufacturing equipment, such as injection moulding machines or extrusion equipment
• Knowledge of plastic materials, processing techniques, and quality control standards relevant to the manufacturing industry
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, production specifications, and equipment manuals
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
• Commitment to following health and safety procedures and maintaining workplace safety standards
• Physical capability to perform tasks involving standing, lifting, and repetitive motions
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in plastic manufacturing or machine operation are advantageous
