Impact of the organisation

The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisation funding world-class breast cancer research towards its vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

Since NBCF’s inception in 1994, it has invested more than $200 million into over 600 world-class research projects across Australia, supporting research that aims to improve the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer.

NBCF is now focused on continuing to build the philanthropic support needed to fund innovative research and accelerate progress towards its vision.

Philanthropy is central to this work, providing the opportunity for individuals, families and foundations to make a meaningful contribution to the future of breast cancer research.

Impact you will have in this role

The Philanthropy Manager is a pivotal role within NBCF’s Philanthropy team, with a clear focus on growth.

Reporting to the General Manager, Philanthropy and Partnerships, you will manage and develop a portfolio of high-value supporters across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, including high-net-worth individuals, families, giving circles and private foundations.

You will have significant scope to build the pipeline, identify new prospects and grow philanthropic income. This includes re-engaging dormant high-value prospects, transitioning mid-value donors into major giving and developing new relationships with supporters who have the capacity and inclination to make a significant contribution.

You will take ownership of your pipeline and fundraising activity, developing tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies, building strong donor relationships and confidently making six-figure asks.

Working collaboratively across Philanthropy, Individual Giving, Research and Marketing, you will connect donors with compelling opportunities to support NBCF’s research priorities and demonstrate the impact of their giving.

This is an opportunity for a major gifts fundraiser who enjoys building relationships, finding opportunity and turning philanthropic potential into meaningful support.
