Join a well-established WA State Government organisation located in the Perth CBD. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a supportive team and contribute to the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services during a busy period.
Your new role
Process end-to-end payroll transactions in accordance with policies and procedures Interpret and apply relevant awards, agreements and payroll legislation
Process payroll adjustments, leave transactions and timesheets
Respond to payroll-related enquiries from employees and stakeholders
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data
Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting requirements
Support continuous improvement initiatives and payroll process reviews
Work collaboratively within a high-performing payroll team
What you'll need to succeed
Previous State Government payroll experience is essential Demonstrated experience using Ascender payroll systems
Strong understanding of payroll processes, awards and entitlements
High attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Confidence working in a fast-paced payroll environment
Willingness and ability to complete payroll testing as part of the interview process
