- Manage public liability claims and legal disputes from initial notification through to resolution.
- Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts while managing trademark registrations and compliance matters.
- Support employment-related legal matters and partner with external legal providers to ensure efficient progress of legal matters.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a broad in-house legal role within our People team at our National Store Support Centre in Rochedale. You'll work across contracts, claims, disputes, intellectual property and compliance, building genuine commercial legal experience while playing a key role in protecting the business.
Enjoy the flexibility of a 0.8 FTE (30.4 hours per week) ideally spread across five shorter days to maintain connection with stakeholders throughout the week, with the option to work four full days.
Your impact
- Manage public liability claims and legal disputes from initial notification through to resolution
- Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts
- Manage Amart’s trademark registrations, renewals and infringement matters
- Coordinate compliance reviews and support the implementation of recommendations
- Support employment-related legal matters, including contracts, policies and documentation
- Manage legal spend, budgets and reporting
- Partner with external legal providers and ensure matters are progressed efficiently and cost effectively
- Maintain legal records, registers and reporting
- Build strong relationships across the business and provide practical, commercially focused support
What you bring
- A law degree nearing completion (or equivalent legal qualification)
- At least 2 years' experience in a legal environment
- Strong contract review, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders across all levels of the business
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Commercial judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach
- A proactive mindset and the ability to work autonomously
- Experience in retail, consumer, insurance or commercial law, public liability claims, intellectual property or working with external legal providers will be highly regarded.
