Location: Hobart, TAS

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Remuneration: From $137,332 to $146,975 + super under the Enterprise Agreement, depending on years of service

Carejobz is recruiting a Nurse Unit Manager to lead the Endoscopy unit at a well-regarded private hospital in Hobart. The role suits a Registered Nurse with clinical management or leadership experience who is ready to take responsibility for a unit's people, service and budget.

About the Facility

A not-for-profit, mission-based private hospital in Hobart, Tasmania, providing perioperative and endoscopy services, with a strong focus on person-centred care.

The Role

Reporting to the Perioperative Services Manager, you will lead the Endoscopy team, including Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, booking clerks and hospital assistants. You will be accountable for clinical standards, staffing, service planning and the unit's budget.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to the Endoscopy team
  • Lead service strategy, operational planning and budget management
  • Support, develop and performance-manage staff to build a high-performing team
  • Roster staff to ensure safe staffing numbers and the right skill mix for the workload
  • Lead infection prevention and control in the unit, including the audit and micro-testing programme for flexible scopes
  • Meet accreditation requirements and lead the unit's work against the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

What You Will Bring

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
  • A minimum of five years' relevant clinical experience
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications, or demonstrated progress towards postgraduate study
  • Demonstrated management, organisational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to best practice
  • Computer literacy
  • Full Australian working rights, or, for exceptional candidates from the UK, New Zealand, USA or Canada who meet every requirement above, eligibility for 482 visa sponsorship
