Our client is seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join their workshop located in Port Adelaide, South Australia.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·Inspect vehicles and identify mechanical and electrical faults.
·Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment, testing procedures, and road tests.
·Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
·Repair and replace faulty or worn components, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering and suspension systems.
·Service and repair cooling, fuel and exhaust systems.
·Inspect, repair and replace brakes, wheel bearings and suspension components.
·Carry out engine tune-ups and adjustments where required.
·Test batteries, charging systems and basic vehicle electrical components.
·Remove, repair and replace engines, transmissions and other major mechanical components when required.
·Change engine oil, filters, fluids and other service items.
·Inspect tyres and wheels and identify safety or maintenance issues.
·Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic scanners, vehicle hoists and other workshop equipment safely.
·Conduct road tests and final inspections to confirm repairs have been completed correctly.
·Maintain accurate records of inspections, servicing, repairs and parts used.
·Provide information to the Workshop Manager or Service Advisor regarding identified faults and recommended repairs.
·Ensure vehicles are maintained and repaired in accordance with applicable safety and manufacturer standards.
·Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
Requirements:
·AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis
·Diploma of Automotive Technology (highly desirable)
·Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a Motor Mechanic
·Valid driver’s licence (manual)
·Experience with vehicle servicing, repairs, maintenance and fault diagnosis
·Ability to use diagnostic scan tools and automotive workshop equipment.
