Mine Geologist
- Support daily mining operations through accurate grade control and geological data interpretation.

CITIC Pacific Mining (CPM) is seeking an experienced Mine Geologist to join our Mine Geology team at Sino Iron.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you'll support daily mining operations through accurate grade control, geological data interpretation and reconciliation. Working closely with Mine Planning, Production, Drill & Blast and Survey teams, you'll provide timely geological information to support safe and efficient mining.
You'll play an important role in minimising ore loss and dilution, optimising ore recovery and ensuring quality ore feed to the processing plant.
This is a hands-on opportunity to develop your technical expertise within a large-scale magnetite mining operation and contribute to the continued development of Sino Iron.
What you'll be doing
• Collect, process and interpret grade control and geological data, including sampling, QA/QC and data validation.
• Maintain and update the grade control database and geological records.
• Conduct geological mapping and interpret geological and geochemical data.
• Monitor mining hygiene and provide geological guidance to minimise ore loss and dilution.
• Communicate grade control and geological information to Mine Planning and Production teams.
• Provide geological input into daily and weekly mine planning activities.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation between geological models, mine plans, production and processing data.
• Liaise with the site laboratory to coordinate sample quality and priorities.
• Provide technical support to the Senior Mine Geologist and guidance to Graduate Mine Geologists and Field Assistants.
• Prepare geological reports and contribute to continuous improvement across Mine Geology processes.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• A Bachelor of Science or Applied Science degree majoring in Geology.
• At least 1 year experience working in a similar role within a surface mining environment.
• Current and valid WA C Class Manual Driver's Licence.
• Experience in grade control, geological data collection and interpretation.
• An understanding of geological sampling, QA/QC and data validation processes.
• Strong analytical, organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Mining, Planning, Production and other site teams.
• The ability to work effectively under time constraints in a fast-paced mining environment.
