Position: Metal Fabricator

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $80,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Ingleburn NSW 2565

Our client Platinum Engineered Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team in Ingleburn, New South Wales.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, repairing and maintaining metal products and structures in accordance with specifications, technical drawings and workplace safety requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, plans and specifications.
• Select, measure, mark and prepare metal materials for fabrication.
• Cut, shape, bend, form and join metal components using appropriate tools and machinery.
• Fabricate and assemble metal components and structures according to specifications.
• Perform welding and other joining processes as required.
• Set up and operate fabrication equipment, machinery and hand tools.
• Check fabricated components for accuracy, alignment and conformity with specifications.
• Repair and modify metal components and structures where required.
• Inspect completed work and ensure appropriate quality standards are maintained.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Comply with workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and other team members to complete projects within required timeframes.

Requirements:

• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in relevant field
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed
• Minimum three (3) years experience as a Metal Fabricator or in a closely related fabrication role.
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, equipment and processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience using fabrication machinery, welding equipment and hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce work to required specifications.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant trade qualifications are desirable; however, applicants with substantial relevant industry experience will also be considered.
