Maintenance Trade Assistant
$38 – $44 per hour + Super | Based on experience
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Trade Assistant to join a busy and established industrial operation. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with practical maintenance experience who enjoys working with tools, machinery and building systems.
We have a position in Pinkenba and another in Carole Park.
As a Maintenance Trade Assistant, you will support the maintenance team to keep machinery, equipment and facilities operating safely and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Inspect machinery and equipment and identify maintenance or repair requirements
- Carry out preventative maintenance and general repairs
- Check control panels, electrical wiring and building systems for issues
- Use a range of hand and power tools, including drills, saws, hoists, hammers and wrenches
- Complete minor repairs to facilities, including doors, fences, plumbing and general building maintenance
- Monitor HVAC, burner systems and other building services
- Assist with groundskeeping, mowing, landscaping and maintaining outdoor areas
- Order cleaning and maintenance supplies as required
- Maintain clean, organised and safe work areas
- Work alongside maintenance trades and other contractors during projects and facility upgrades
- Record completed maintenance and report issues requiring further attention
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and safety focused, with a willingness to get involved and assist wherever needed.
You will ideally have:
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong commitment to workplace safety
Desirable:
- Working at Heights experience
- EWP ticket
- Confined Space experience
