We are looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanical Fitter.

This is a varied hands-on role, combining workshop-based work in our Malaga with field service and project installation work across remote mine sites.

The standard working week is 38 hours in the metro area. From time to time, the role will require travel to remote mine sites, where you may work up to 12 hours per day and 84 hours per week, with site assignments of up to two weeks away from home.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Mechanical fitting, installation, service and maintenance
  • Project installation work at customer and mine sites
  • Working with flanges, fittings, hoses and pipework
  • Installation, servicing and maintenance of pumping systems
  • Reading and interpreting engineering and technical drawings
  • Diagnosing problems and implementing practical solutions
  • Working safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Completing work to a high standard while maintaining site safety requirements
  • Travelling to remote mine sites when required

The successful candidate MUST have:

  • A recognised Trade Qualification in Mechanical Fitting or a similar mechanical trade
  • A current Driver's Licence
  • Previous field/on-site experience in project installation, service or maintenance
  • Experience with flanges, fittings, hoses, pipework and pumping systems
  • The ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • A sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
  • The ability and willingness to work remotely and undertake FIFO-style site assignments

Required Tickets & Licences Candidates must hold, or be willing to obtain, the following as required:

  • General Construction Induction (White Card)
  • Working Safely at Heights
  • First Aid – CPR
  • Confined Space Training
  • MSIC – Maritime Security Identification Card
  • Rail Category 3 Medical
  • RIW Card – Rail Industry Worker
  • Forklift High Risk Work Licence
  • Elevated Work Platform High Risk Work Licence
