CrewSELECT recruiting 3 Baler Machine Operators on behalf of an established resource recovery business at its brand-new Murarrie facility.

Join a production team processing and preparing recovered materials for use as alternative fuel. If you bring production, manufacturing, sorting or warehouse experience, this is an opportunity to build your machinery skills and establish yourself in a long-term role.

Attitude, reliability and a commitment to safety are key. Candidates who show initiative and perform well may have opportunities to train in other areas of the plant.

What’s on Offer

• Day shift: $40.94/hr + penalties + super
• Afternoon shift: $47.08/hr + penalties + super
• 1 day shift position: 4:00am–12:00pm
• 2 afternoon shift positions: 2:00pm–10:00pm
• Ongoing casual work with a pathway to permanent full-time employment around the 3–4 month mark, subject to performance and business requirements
• A modern facility with opportunities to learn and develop

The rates above are casual rates. Permanent employment rates will be discussed during the recruitment process.

The Role

You’ll help keep the baler and wrapper production line operating safely and consistently, ensuring finished products are correctly wrapped, stored and loaded for transport.

Your duties will include:

• Operating the baler, wrapper and associated feed systems
• Monitoring product quality and checking wrapping meets specifications
• Safely loading finished baled products into shipping containers
• Assisting with product storage and ensuring vehicle loading stays within mass limits
• Communicating production updates and issues to the Plant Controller and Shift Team Leader
• Keeping accurate production records and maintaining excellent housekeeping
• Following health, safety, environmental and quality procedures
• Helping with other tasks within your skills and training

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in production, manufacturing, sorting, recycling or warehousing
• Confidence working around machinery, with basic plant knowledge advantageous
• A dependable work ethic and willingness to learn
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a team
• Availability for your nominated shift and an interest in ongoing, long-term employment
• LF forklift licence and operating experience highly regarded

Work Environment & Requirements

This is a dusty production environment, and wearing a P2 respirator is mandatory. Facial hair must comply with the site’s respirator fit requirements and must not interfere with the mask seal.

You must also:

• Be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
• Wear steel cap boots, a long-sleeved high-vis top and high-vis long pants
• Hold work rights that support ongoing employment and the intended permanent pathway
