At SASH Central Coast we are lucky to have a state-of-the-art hospital providing veterinary excellence across Internal medicine, surgery, Ophthalmology, emergency and critical care, dermatology and oncology departments.

About the position:
  
Nurses are at the heart of our team, and so much of what our team can achieve for our patients is largely due to our talented nursing team.
Our ECC department are now accepting applications for Junior Emergency and Critical Care Nurses to join us!

We're adding two additional junior nurses to our roster to support our experienced nursing team. This role will appeal to nurses who want structured learning, mentorship, and the time to build confidence safely.

Our ECC department is supported by Criticalists Dr Lisa Smart and Dr Sophia Morse, highly experiences ECC clinicians, and an exceptional nursing team.

You will also have the opportunity to work with our other teams including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Dermatology, Anaesthesia with support from the broader SASH specialist network including Cardiology, Neurology and Exotics.

We're offering full-time, permanent positions. Our emergency team operates 24 hours, 7 days so availability to work a variety of shifts is required.

About You: 

  • A keen interest in Emergency and critical care with a strong desire to work closely with our patients throughout their entire SASH journey. 
  • An ability to remain calm under pressure, while maintaining effective decision-making skills. 
  • Willingness to learn how to confidently and effectively triage patients. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience in anaesthesia and ventilation is highly regarded, but not an expectation
  • Commitment to continuous personal development

  
To be considered for this position, applicants must have: 

  • Completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. 
  • A minimum of 1 year, of full-time experience as a qualified nurse. 
  • Previous experience in emergency care would be highly regarded but not essential. 
  • No experience in emergency? Training and support will be provided to ensure you’re ready for your Emergency Journey!
