The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established industry superannuation fund, is growing its Claims team and is looking for experienced claims professionals to join them. Whether you're after a fixed-term contract or a permanent home for your career, this is a chance to work across Total and Permanent Disability (TPD), Terminal Illness and Death benefit claims, supporting members and their loved ones through some of the most significant moments of their lives.
Multiple positions are available across contract and permanent arrangements, making this a great opportunity for claims professionals at different career stages and with different availability.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing and processing TPD, Terminal Illness and Death benefit claims in line with policy terms, legislation and industry best practice
- Liaising sensitively and professionally with claimants, beneficiaries, legal representatives and medical practitioners
- Reviewing and interpreting medical, financial and other supporting evidence to determine claim outcomes
- Managing a caseload from lodgement through to resolution, keeping claimants informed at every stage
- Collaborating with insurers, trustees and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely decisions
- Maintaining detailed, compliant records for audit and reporting purposes
- Identifying vulnerable members and adapting your approach to provide appropriate support
- Contributing ideas to improve claims processes and the overall member experience
About You
You're a claims professional who combines genuine empathy with sharp analytical skills. You understand that behind every file is a person or family going through a difficult time, and you bring both compassion and rigour to how you manage each case.
You'll ideally bring:
- Demonstrated experience assessing or managing TPD, Terminal Illness, Death, or Income Protection claims within superannuation, life insurance or a related sector
- Sound knowledge of relevant insurance and superannuation legislation and regulatory requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to hold sensitive conversations with care
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret medical and legal documentation
- The resilience and emotional maturity to work in a high-empathy claims environment
- A collaborative mindset and the flexibility to work across a contract or permanent arrangement, depending on the role
