Hays Trades & Labour are currently seeking experienced Industrial Painters & Blasters for upcoming and ongoing projects across the Newcastle, Hunter, and surrounding regions.We are partnering with a well-established industrial services contractor that specialises in large-scale infrastructure, construction, and industrial projects. Due to a strong pipeline of work and increasing project demands, we are looking for skilled professionals who take pride in delivering high-quality expertise while maintaining strict safety standards.
Your New Role
As an Industrial Painter & Blaster, you will be responsible for carrying out surface preparation, abrasive blasting, and the application of protective coatings across a range of industrial environments.Duties may include:
- Abrasive blasting and surface preparation
- Applying protective coatings and industrial paint systems
- Operating blasting and painting equipment
- Working from technical specifications and coating requirements
- Ensuring work is completed to quality and safety standards
- Maintaining equipment and a clean work area
- Working collaboratively within site teams to meet project deadlines
This is a hands-on role offering ongoing opportunities with reputable contractors across commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and maintenance projects.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Previous experience as an Industrial Painter and/or Abrasive Blaster
- Experience applying protective coatings to steel structures, tanks, pipelines, or industrial equipment
- Knowledge of surface preparation and blasting techniques
- Ability to read and interpret paint specifications and project requirements
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Current White Card
- Current Driving Licence and reliable transport
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and team-focused attitude
- Working at Heights ticket
- Confined Space ticket
- Forklift, EWP, or other relevant plant tickets
- Trade qualification in Industrial Painting and Decorating
- Experience working on shutdowns, infrastructure, mining, or heavy industrial projects
