About the role: Exciting opportunity for Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join our teams in Vic, QLD and WA. The purpose of the role is to work in a team on Truck Builds
The successful applicant will be a self-motivated person who can work efficiently & mostly unsupervised.
New Vehicle Builds & Fit-Out
- Undertake mechanical fit-out and installation activities on new heavy vehicle builds.
- Install and assemble mechanical components, truck-mounted equipment and associated systems.
- Fit, adjust and test components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
- Assist with the integration of chassis, mechanical systems and specialised STG equipment.
- Identify and report build issues, component incompatibilities or potential design improvements.
- Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues during vehicle builds.
Testing, Inspection & Commissioning
- Conduct inspections and functional testing of vehicles and equipment.
- Assist with pre-delivery inspections and commissioning of completed vehicles.
- Verify that mechanical systems and truck-mounted equipment operate safely and correctly.
- Identify defects or non-conformances and undertake rectification work as required.
- Ensure completed work meets STG's quality, safety and workmanship standards prior to vehicle release or customer handover.
