Heavy Truck Driver
- Safely operate 8×4 heavy rigid tipper trucks across civil and infrastructure projects.
- Transport and tip bulk materials in accordance with site procedures.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and work diaries where required.
Our client is a major civil and infrastructure transport company supporting a large scale infrastructure project. They are seeking experienced Heavy Tipper Truck Drivers to join their growing operations team in permanent, full-time positions.
About the role
You will safely transport soil, rock, gravel, quarry products and construction aggregates between project sites, quarries and civil works locations.
Operating modern heavy-duty tipper trucks, you will work closely with site supervisors and project teams to support safe and efficient deliveries.
Key responsibilities
- Safely operate 8×4 heavy rigid tipper trucks across civil and infrastructure projects.
- Transport and tip bulk materials in accordance with site procedures.
- Carry out daily pre-start checks, basic maintenance inspections and defect reporting.
- Comply with applicable heavy vehicle requirements, including fatigue management, mass limits, load restraint and Chain of Responsibility obligations.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and work diaries where required.
- Follow site safety procedures and participate in toolbox meetings.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, site supervisors and other operators.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A current Australian Heavy Rigid (HR) licence or higher
- Proven experience operating 8×4 tipper trucks in civil construction, quarrying, mining or bulk haulage.
- A sound understanding of heavy vehicle road rules and safe loading and tipping practices.
- Experience completing vehicle inspections and identifying and reporting faults.
- The ability to carry out the duties safely and work the advertised roster within fatigue management requirements.
- Effective communication skills for site coordination, safety instructions and record keeping.
- A strong commitment to safety and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
