Our Opportunity

Location: Solomon – Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

Roster: 7D7N14R – FIFO ex Perth and Busselton

Join Fortescue’s Ancillary Maintenance team at Solomon and help keep a diverse fleet of heavy mobile equipment operating safely and reliably. You’ll maintain and repair dozers, loaders, graders and other ancillary equipment, contributing to strong equipment availability and day-to-day operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on ancillary mobile equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
  • Maintain dozers, loaders, graders and other equipment across the ancillary fleet.
  • Complete workshop and field-based maintenance as required.
  • Work with Mobile Maintenance teams to support scheduled work and equipment availability.
  • Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately, following Fortescue safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel Fitter or Diesel Mechanic trade qualification.
  • Experience maintaining heavy mobile mining equipment.
  • Broad hands-on experience with ancillary equipment such as dozers, loaders and graders.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Experience in mining or a similar heavy industry.
  • A strong commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship.
