The Redcliffe Peninsula began life as one of the earliest settlements in the Brisbane area. Thus, a lot of historical buildings can still be seen today in Redcliffe and the areas surrounding it. In the early 20th century, the peninsula began to grow popular as a tourist destination. People would flock to Redcliffe wanting to relax on the beaches. As the century progressed, people drifted away from the Peninsula. Quite recently, this sleepy little seaside town experienced a makeover. The creation of Bee Gees Way and the Rejuvenation project lead to the rise in popularity of the Redcliffe Peninsula once again.
