An exciting opportunity has become available for a Field Assistant to join a busy exploration team supporting seasonal drilling activities at a regional exploration project in South-West Western Australia. This is a temporary position ideally suited to someone looking to gain hands-on experience within the mining and exploration industry.
Your new role
As a Field Assistant, you will provide practical support to the geology team during the drilling season, assisting with a range of field-based activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting exploration and drilling programs
- Assisting geologists with sample collection and handling
- Maintaining accurate records and field documentation
- Preparing, organising and transporting equipment and supplies
- General field and site housekeeping duties
- Working safely and following all site procedures
- Assisting with day-to-day activities as required by the geology team
This is a casual position operating Monday to Friday during the exploration season, with hours varying depending on operational requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered, you will ideally have
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- A commitment to safety and following procedures
- Reliability and the ability to commit for the duration of the season
- A current driving licence
