Your new role
As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the preparation of accurate and competitive quotations for complex fabrication and machining projects. Working closely with engineering, production and procurement teams, you will analyse technical documentation, develop detailed cost estimates and support successful project delivery from tender stage through to award.
Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and models to prepare accurate estimates.
• Developing detailed labour, material and subcontractor cost breakdowns.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to optimise pricing and improve competitiveness.
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities and potential project risks.
• Maintaining historical costing data and continuously improving estimating processes.
• Supporting customer enquiries regarding scope, timelines and budgets.
• Ensuring quotations align with business objectives and profitability targets.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in fabrication, manufacturing or machining estimation.
• Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, machining techniques and engineering materials.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and CAD models.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage across multiple departments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and exposure to CAD software.
• A proactive, self-driven approach with strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain required Australian Government security clearances. Australian citizenship may be required for some programs.
