About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Draftsperson to join our QLD team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical capability across MV/LV switchboards, switchrooms, kiosks, and power distribution systems.
You will collaborate with project management teams across our national network, to produce high quality, detailed and accurate design to support the successful delivery of major projects for TVG as well as contributing to ongoing product development and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and draft switchboards and other electrical products according to projects estimated and won by the Sales team within the time allowed.
- Follow customer issued drawings and specifications to design conforming switchboards to AS61439 and AS3439 while adhering to Trivantage Type Test Certification.
- Work with your fellow team members to design and engineer the best solution using Trivantage product guidelines.
- Work with the Production team. You will be required to prepare the approved drawings and associated documentation to hand over to production to assist in communicating the requirements of the project.
- Develop relationships with your fellow team members
- Design switchboards and understand and following the guidelines and restrictions of the switchgear supplier you are using.
·Output drawing sets to the Trivantage standard guidelines, well-presented and considered.
About You
You will thrive in this role if you bring:
- Experience in the electrical or switchboard industry (10+ years preferred).
- Strong background in estimating MV/LV switchboards, switchrooms, kiosks, or related assemblies.
- Solid understanding of LV switchgear (Schneider, Siemens, ABB, etc.) and familiarity with MV equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation (AutoCAD, E‑plan, etc.).
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant industry software (Powercad, AutoCAD, etc.).
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a national team.
