Your New Role
You will be responsible for: Providing high-quality written advice, briefings and strategic recommendations to support government decision-making, ensuring information is clear, accurate and written in plain English. Engaging with a broad range of stakeholders, including disability advocates, community representatives and internal business areas, to gather insights and inform policy and operational improvements. Analysing qualitative and quantitative information to identify trends, risks and opportunities, translating complex information into practical recommendations. Leading and supporting continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance team performance and outcomes. Managing and mentoring staff while contributing to the development of a collaborative, high-performing and inclusive team culture.
What You Will Need to Succeed
The successful applicant will demonstrate: Experience preparing high-quality advice, reports and briefing materials within a government, policy or complex stakeholder environment. Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write in plain English and apply accessibility standards and Australian Government style guides. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, ideally within the disability sector or broader community services environment. Proven experience analysing complex qualitative and quantitative information to support evidence-based decision-making. Leadership experience, including managing teams, improving processes and driving positive organisational outcomes.
Highly Regarded Qualifications in disability, health, public policy or a related discipline. Knowledge of the broader disability sector, including the social model of disability. Experience working directly with people with disability in accessible and inclusive ways. Lived experience of disability.
The Logistics Initial 3-month contract with a strong possibility of extension.
Part-time opportunity (0.6 FTE).
Standard working hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm.
Locations available in Melbourne/Geelong (VIC).
Maximum hourly rate of $100.56 + super.
Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
