Diesel Motor Mechanics
- Maintain, repair, and overhaul diesel-powered equipment.
- Conduct diagnostics and field service repairs.

Flexihire is currently seeking skilled Diesel Motor Mechanics to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling a wide range of diesel-powered equipment in the hire fleet, including excavators, generators, trailers, and other mobile plant machinery. The role also includes diagnostics, field service, and supporting workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on hire equipment
- Perform field breakdown repairs and after-hours service when required
- Prepare machinery for hire, ensuring all safety and operational standards are met
- Rebuild or replace engine components and troubleshoot transmission and electrical faults
- Maintain service records and ensure a safe, clean workshop environment
- Support apprentices and work collaboratively with the team
Skills and Experience:
- Trade qualification in diesel mechanics or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with diesel engines
- Strong troubleshooting skills in hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Current driver’s licence (HR preferred)
