Our client, Hair by Kesh, is a hair and beauty salon based in Darwin City, Northern Territory, providing a range of personal grooming and beauty services for men and women. Their services include haircuts, keratin and nanoplasty hair-smoothing treatments, facials, make-up application and waxing. The business aims to meet clients’ individual styling and beauty needs through personalised consultations and professional salon services.
Hair by Kesh is seeking a full-time Beauty Therapist to provide beauty and skincare services in line with the salon’s service offerings. The role involves consulting with clients, assessing their skincare needs, performing facial treatments, waxing and make-up application, recommending suitable beauty products and maintaining appropriate hygiene standards. The Beauty Therapist will contribute to the salon’s daily operations by delivering personalised services and ensuring clients receive treatments suited to their preferences and requirements.
The annual salary for this full-time position is $80,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation.
Duties include:
- Consult with clients to determine their skincare and beauty requirements, discuss desired results and recommend suitable treatments based on their individual needs and preferences.
- Examine clients’ skin types and conditions to identify appropriate facial treatments and select suitable skincare products, taking into consideration skin sensitivities and specific concerns.
- Perform facial treatments, including skin cleansing, exfoliation, facial masks and moisturising applications, to improve skin appearance and maintain skin condition.
- Provide facial waxing and eyebrow shaping services using appropriate techniques and products to remove unwanted hair and achieve the client’s requested appearance.
- Apply make-up for everyday wear, special occasions and events, selecting suitable cosmetic products, colours and application techniques according to clients’ preferences and requirements.
- Recommend and apply appropriate skincare and cosmetic products, providing clients with advice on product selection, application methods and home-care routines to maintain treatment results.
- Perform keratin and nanoplasty hair-smoothing treatments by assessing clients’ hair condition, preparing the hair and applying suitable treatment products in accordance with product instructions and salon procedures.
- Prepare clients’ hair for smoothing treatments by cleansing, sectioning and applying products as required, then use appropriate heat-styling equipment and techniques to achieve the intended treatment results.
- Perform men’s and women’s haircuts, including consultation, hair sectioning, cutting and finishing, to achieve the styles requested by clients and maintain the salon’s service standards.
- Provide hair-care advice and recommend suitable shampoos, conditioners and styling products based on clients’ hair types, treatment history and maintenance requirements.
- Maintain accurate client consultation records, treatment details and product preferences and manage appointments to support personalised service delivery and the efficient operation of the salon.
- Maintain hygienic workstations, clean and sanitise tools and equipment, handle beauty and hair-treatment products safely and follow relevant workplace health and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least one (1) year of relevant experience.
- Should possess an AQF Certificate III, including at least two (2) years of on-the-job training or an AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
