Project Delivery Coordinator

Public Sector People are partnering with Central Highlands Regional Council to appoint several Project Delivery Coordinators to its newly established Project Delivery Team within the Program Management Office.

These are newly created positions offering the opportunity to work across a genuinely diverse capital works portfolio spanning roads, stormwater, water and sewer infrastructure, buildings and community facilities.

Reporting to the Coordinator Major Project Delivery, you will take responsibility for coordinating projects across the full delivery lifecycle – from early planning and design through procurement, construction, handover and close-out.

The Opportunity

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced project professional who enjoys variety and wants greater ownership across the complete project lifecycle.

Rather than being limited to one asset class or one stage of delivery, you will work across multiple infrastructure portfolios and partner closely with Council's asset owners, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating capital projects from planning and design through to construction and completion
• Managing project programs, budgets, milestones, risks and reporting
• Coordinating procurement and contract administration activities
• Managing consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project stakeholders
• Supporting business cases, feasibility assessments and grant-funded projects
• Monitoring project and financial performance
• Coordinating project handover, close-out and asset capitalisation
• Building strong working relationships across Council and with external stakeholders.

Importantly, you will be joining the team at an exciting stage of its development. Council is strengthening its project delivery capability and establishing a more consistent approach to the planning, governance and delivery of capital projects across the organisation.

About You You may already be working within local or state government, but you don't necessarily need a Council background.

We are equally interested in project professionals from consulting engineering, civil construction, utilities, mining and infrastructure organisations who can bring strong delivery capability and successfully operate in a multidisciplinary stakeholder environment.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Experience delivering civil, infrastructure or capital works projects
• Strong project planning and coordination capability
• Contract administration and procurement experience
• Understanding of civil construction and infrastructure delivery
• Experience managing project budgets, programs and reporting
• The ability to effectively coordinate consultants and contractors
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
