An opportunity exists for a qualified Diesel Mechanic who has  experience in the service, maintenance and repair of heavy mining / earthmoving equipment to join our team at Broken Hill. The successful candidate will work both in the Broken Hill workshop and in field service; with a disciplined approach and the capability to work autonomously they will deliver high quality work to ensure customer service expectations are achieved.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Servicing and repairs to a range of above mining equipment including earthmoving & on highway trucks;
  • Component change-outs and repairs;
  • Fault diagnosis and trouble shooting of mechanical and electronic engine systems;
  • Major engine / equipment overhauls;
  • Report writing on fault findings including new warranty claims;
  • Specification interpretation;
  • Participation in daily Contamination Control and Safety processes.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Relevant Trade Qualification;
  • Current Driver’s Licence;
  • Previous experience with heavy mining and earthmoving equipment;
  • Excellent mechanical servicing and diagnostic skills;
  • Auto Electrical and Hydraulic experience;
  • Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements
  • Dedicated to safety, contamination control and quality standards;
  • Ability to attend breakdowns and fault find in a remote / autonomous environment.
