Cost Planner

The Opportunity
A well-established Tier 2 commercial builder is seeking an Intermediate Cost Planner to join its preconstruction team.
You will work across a diverse portfolio of hotel, apartment and education projects, preparing accurate cost plans from feasibility through design development. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their technical and commercial skills within a highly regarded builder.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare feasibility estimates and detailed cost plans
• Complete elemental and trade-based cost breakdowns
• Undertake quantity take-offs from concept and developed designs
• Benchmark costs against comparable projects
• Assist with value management and design-to-budget reviews
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams
• Obtain market pricing and maintain current cost information
• Identify cost risks, contingencies and escalation allowances
• Update cost plans as designs progress
• Support project handover into delivery

About You

• Approximately 3–6 years’ cost planning or estimating experience
• Experience across commercial construction projects
• Relevant construction management or quantity surveying qualification
• Strong measurement, analytical and numerical skills
• Good understanding of construction methodologies and trade packages
• Confident using estimating and cost-planning software
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
