Sample Preparation Officer
- Laboratory testing of samples in chemistry and microbiology departments
- Preparation of samples using aseptic techniques and basic laboratory techniques
- Assist with outsourcing tasks and maintaining records.
About the company/role:
- Laboratory testing a range of samples within chemistry and microbiology departments
- Based in the inner suburbs of Melbourne
- Seeking an experienced Sample Preparation Officer to join the team
- 6-12 month casual contract
- Fulltime hours
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of samples using aseptic technqiues and basic laboratory techniques
- Assist with outsourcing tasks and maintaining records
- Troubleshoot problems at receipt
- Answering & responding to client calls/emails and prioritising urgent jobs
- Distribute samples and paperwork as required
- Use of Microsoft Office (Excel, word, Outlook)
Skills/experience required:
- Tertiary education in Science
- Must have prior experience working in a laboratory setting
- Microbial knowledge is an advantage
- High attention to detail
- Experience in laboratory data entry
- Well organised
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
