Job description

Our client is a well-established manufacturer servicing the resources sector, with a strong reputation for quality, engineering capability and a genuine safety-first culture. They're expanding their fabrication team and looking for skilled tradespeople to join them.

The opportunity
We're looking for experienced Boilermakers to join Day and Afternoon Shift crews. Casual roles are available for immediate start, with a pathway to permanency for the right people. If you take pride in your work, put safety first and enjoy passing on your skills, this is a great chance to step up.

What you'll be doing

  • Heavy fabrication and welding, including flux core and MIG welding to Australian Standards, plus back gouging for refurbishment work
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  • Checking that components and measurements meet required tolerances
  • Handling and processing materials with a focus on safety, quality and productivity
  • Working alongside maintenance and engineering teams as needed
  • Coaching and mentoring apprentices and junior team members
  • Supporting quality audits and meeting quality system requirements
  • Other tasks such as forklift operation and profile cutting, within your training and experience

What you'll bring

  • Recognised trade qualification in Engineering Fabrication (essential)
  • Previous heavy fabrication experience, ideally in mining or heavy industry
  • Ability to pass flux core and MIG weld tests
  • Strong knowledge of safe work practices
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good English literacy and numeracy
  • Willingness to work afternoon shifts
  • Forklift licence, Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets (desirable)
