We are seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Architect to join a government Cyber Security Branch and provide principal-level leadership across cyber security strategy, architecture and design governance.
This is a senior specialist position with significant autonomy and influence. You will act as the Agency's principal cyber security design authority, helping shape the target-state cyber security architecture, strategy and roadmap across corporate ICT environments and nationally significant digital health infrastructure.
You will work closely with senior executives, Enterprise and Solution Architects, Product Owners, delivery teams, government agencies and industry partners to provide authoritative cyber security advice on complex and emerging security challenges.
About the Role
You will be responsible for:
- Developing, maintaining and championing the Agency's cyber security strategy and roadmap.
- Acting as the principal cyber security design authority, defining and governing architectural principles, standards, patterns and reference models.
- Providing senior-level cyber security advice to executives on complex, sensitive and emerging security matters.
- Ensuring cyber security architecture aligns with Australian Government frameworks, including ISM, PSPF and Essential Eight Maturity Model.
- Leading strategic threat and risk assessments for emerging technologies and recommending appropriate security controls and risk treatments.
- Providing cyber security assurance and advice throughout the planning, design and development lifecycle of major technology initiatives.
- Defining and maintaining cyber security architectural standards, reference architectures and design patterns.
- Representing cyber security architecture positions with government agencies, security authorities, health jurisdictions, industry partners and other stakeholders.
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring to cyber security and architecture practitioners.
About You
You will be a highly experienced Cyber Security Architect with the ability to operate at a principal or design-authority level.
You will bring:
- Significant experience in cyber security architecture and strategy across complex enterprise or government environments.
- Strong experience providing cyber security assurance and advice across the technology planning and development lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience working with cloud-based systems and modern enterprise architectures.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Government cyber security frameworks, particularly ISM, PSPF and Essential Eight.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in providing cyber security assurance to cloud based systems providing interactive services to organisations and individuals, utilising the Australian Government PSPF and ISM frameworks.
