About the Role
As a Fitter / Fitter Armourer, you will inspect, repair and recondition military hardware, helping to ensure Defence equipment remains operational and ready for use.
Working closely with Defence personnel, you will provide embedded maintenance support during Defence training activities, ensuring equipment is serviceable and training objectives are achieved.
Responsibilities include:

• Perform maintenance, servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
• Safely operate workshop machinery to manufacture, repair or modify components.
• Inspect, test and certify plant and equipment as serviceable and fit for purpose.
• Travel as required to support training, upskilling and maintenance activities.
• Provide maintenance support across various Defence sites throughout Queensland, with all travel, accommodation and meals provided.

About You

• Hold a recognised Fitter and Turner trade qualification, Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience working with small engines and hydraulic equipment, including rock breakers and power packs.
• Strong aptitude for technology and confidence using computer-based maintenance systems.
• MR or HR Licence highly regarded.
• Physically fit with a strong commitment to hands-on work and safe work practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
