Tradesperson Assistant

The opportunity
Ventia has exciting opportunities for Tradesperson Assistants to join our team supporting the United States Marine Corps (USMC) at Robertson Barracks, NT.

Working within a unique Defence environment, you'll support preventative maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs across a diverse fleet of military assets, including Light Tactical Vehicles, Humvees and other specialised equipment. As an Australian Defence Force partner, Ventia supports both ADF and allied forces, offering the opportunity to broaden your skills while working alongside experienced trades professionals.

This full-time position offers a 38-hour week, Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Assist trades personnel with preventative maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs on United States Marine Corps (USMC) vehicles and equipment, including routine servicing tasks such as oil and filter changes, lubrication and basic vehicle maintenance.
• Support tyre fitting, inspections and general workshop activities to ensure vehicles and equipment remain operational and serviceable. 
• Assist with stores activities, including the movement and management of parts, tools and equipment. 
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment and operate plant and equipment where appropriately trained and licensed. 
• Adhere to all regulatory, safety and contract-specific requirements.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a Tradesperson Assistant role, workshop or similar hands-on support role.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence (manual).
• Strong work ethic, reliability and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience undertaking tyre inspections and basic tyre maintenance highly regarded. 
• Current Forklift Licence highly regarded.
• Computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office applications.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a minimum Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
