Allura Partners are delighted to be partnering with a fast growing Renewable Energy business on a search for a Senior FP&A Manager role. This business is building out its renewable energy portfolio and finance needs someone to own planning and forecasting as it grows. You'll also help the leadership team understand how the assets are actually performing.
Key responsibilities:
Budgeting and forecasting
- Lead the annual budget process across operating assets, the development pipeline and corporate costs
- Own rolling monthly and quarterly forecasts across revenue, opex, capex and cash
- Build and maintain generation and revenue forecasts, factoring in PPAs, merchant pricing and LGC revenue
- Maintain and improve the core three-way financial model
Performance reporting
- Prepare monthly management reporting, including variance analysis against budget and forecast
- Track and report asset performance, including generation, availability, curtailment and realised pricing
- Contribute to board, investor and lender reporting, including debt covenant monitoring
Commercial insight
- Build project and portfolio models to support investment decisions and final investment decision (FID) approvals
- Partner with Development, Commercial and Operations teams on PPA pricing, project economics and capex decisions
- Track capex spend against budget on projects in construction
- Challenge assumptions and flag risks and opportunities early
Strategic support
- Support project financing, refinancing and capital raises with modelling and analysis
- Support M&A activity, including asset acquisitions, divestments and due diligence
Systems and team
- Improve planning and reporting tools as the portfolio scales
- Automate reporting and reduce manual work
- Lead, coach and develop the FP&A team
About you:
- CA or CPA qualified
- Big 4 trained
- 7+ years post-qualification, with at least 4 years in an FP&A role
- Experience in renewable energy, utilities, infrastructure or another capital-intensive sector
- Advanced Excel and modelling skills, with project finance or asset-level modelling experience
- Understanding of PPAs, energy market pricing and LGCs, or a strong willingness to learn quickly
- A commercial mindset. You're comfortable challenging forecasts and decisions, not just reporting on them
- Able to explain complex numbers clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Experience leading or mentoring a small team
