Your new role

We are seeking an experienced Trade Assistant and Labourer to join a busy team based from Strathdickie. Working Tuesday to Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm, you will assist qualified tradespeople across a variety of jobs servicing locations from Bowen through to Midge Point.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys varied work, is confident using tools and is willing to get stuck in and support the team wherever required.
Your duties may include:

• Assisting qualified tradespeople with day-to-day tasks
• Using hand and power tools
• Preparing materials, equipment and worksites
• General labouring and maintenance duties
• Loading and unloading equipment and materials
• Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe
• Travelling to various worksites throughout the Whitsundays
• Following all workplace health and safety procedures

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous Trade Assistant, labouring, construction or maintenance experience
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Current Driver's Licence
• Reliable and strong work ethic
• Ability to undertake physical, hands-on work
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to take direction and work well within a small team
• Contactable work references
• Must be local to the Whitsundays or within reasonable travelling distance of Strathdickie

What you'll get in return

In return, you'll enjoy a fantastic four-day working week, working Tuesday to Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm, giving you a three-day weekend each week. Rates will be based on experience, with Trade Assistants earning $45/hr + penalties and Labourers earning $40/hr + penalties.
A company vehicle is provided for work purposes, and you'll have the opportunity to secure long-term work with a supportive local team. The business also has a scheduled Christmas shutdown from 23 December to 5 January.
