Job responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain modern dairy milking systems and associated equipment.
- Observe and monitor livestock health and behavior to facilitate proactive farm management and timely decision-making.
- Safely operate farm machinery, perform daily equipment checks, report faults promptly, and assist with necessary adjustments, resizing, and minor repairs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date farm records including milk yield data, herd information, and feed inventory.
- Navigate computerized farm management systems and properly utilize standard measurement devices.
- Apply an understanding of basic scientific terms and concepts to daily farming tasks.
- Provide assistance with artificial insemination programs and fertilizer applications as required.
- Collaborate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Comply with all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and animal welfare standards.
What we are looking for
- Relevant qualifications and/or practical, hands-on experience in dairy or livestock farming (highly regarded).
- A strong ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent time-management skills coupled with a strong attention to detail.
- Physical fitness and the capability to handle the daily demands of farm work
