Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks and holes, and applying primers as required.
- Apply paints, varnishes, stains, sealants, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Carry out interior and exterior painting works across new homes, renovations, extensions, townhouses, and other residential projects.
- Select, prepare, mix, and match paints to achieve specified colours, shades, textures, and finishes.
- Interpret job specifications, plans, colour requirements, and project instructions to achieve the required finish.
- Apply decorative finishes, protective coatings, and specialised finishes in accordance with project requirements.
- Inspect completed painting work, undertake touch-ups and corrections, and ensure all finishes meet required quality standards.
- Maintain tools and equipment, follow workplace health and safety procedures, and coordinate effectively with supervisors and other tradespeople on-site.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience working as a Painter.
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, coatings, finishes, and surface preparation methods.
- Experience working on residential construction, renovation, or similar painting projects.
- Ability to confidently use brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other painting tools and equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow job specifications, plans, instructions, and project requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality finishes.
- Reliable, punctual, hardworking, physically capable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
