The Opportunity

As the Rostering Coordinator you will coordinate the efficient and effective allocation of approximately 450 staff within Carrington’s four onsite residential aged care facilities operating 24/7. You will oversee the development and management of staff rosters, ensuring adequate coverage to meet resident care needs, while being the first point of contact for staff in relation to roster and attendance.
This full time opportunity has standard working hours of Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm and reports to the General Manager of Residential Care. Remuneration includes a base salary, plus leave loading, superannuation and not-for-profit salary packaging.

Responsibilities:

  • Roster forecasting, including coverage for planned leave, training and peak staffing periods
  • Ensure rosters meet the required staffing levels for mandatory care minutes and reported regularly for compliance and budget tracking
  • Address & resolve issues related to rostering such as scheduling conflicts, staff shortages or unexpected absences
  • Managing difficult & sensitive rostering situations and staffing issues – escalating where appropriate
  • Meet regularly with key management stakeholders to understand work force needs and challenges

About You

Essential Criteria:

  1. Minimum 2 years Rostering and scheduling experience with shift work
  2. Experience with Enterprise Agreements and interpreting shift rules
  3. Experience in rostering to staffing level KPIs
  4. Demonstrated experience negotiating permanent rosters and flexible arrangements
  5. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders
  6. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  7. Flexibility to adapt effectively to changing staffing needs and levels while balancing current and future rosters and maintaining attention to detail
  8. Ability to maintain high confidentiality with sensitive personal and business information
  9. Demonstrated organisational, administration and time management skills
  10. Right to work in Australia
  11. Willingness to complete obtain an NDIS Worker check clearance

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in healthcare – ideally Aged Care
  • Working knowledge of the UKG Ready, Kronos products or other rostering software systems
  • Workforce planning skills
