Civil Surveyor – Civil Construction & Infrastructure
About the role
Smith & Co Recruitment is partnering with established civil contractors delivering infrastructure projects across Brisbane and Southeast Queensland.
We're currently seeking a degree-qualified Civil Surveyor to support the delivery of civil construction projects. This Brisbane-based opportunity offers a competitive salary package of up to $165K + Super + Company Car, depending on experience.
You'll work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and site teams to provide accurate surveying support throughout construction. From site set-out and level checks to as-built surveys and quality verification, you'll play a key role in ensuring works are delivered accurately and in line with project requirements.

Key responsibilities
- Complete site set-out for civil construction works
- Conduct topographic, level and as-built surveys
- Interpret engineering drawings and survey plans
- Verify construction levels, alignments and tolerances
- Prepare survey records, reports and as-built documentation
- Coordinate survey requirements with engineers and site teams
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure data accuracy
- Support quality checks and resolve survey discrepancies
Skills & experience we're looking for
Must-have:
- Degree qualification in Surveying or a relevant surveying discipline
- Experience in civil construction or engineering surveying
- Strong understanding of construction set-out and survey methods
- Ability to interpret civil engineering plans and specifications
- Experience using surveying instruments and relevant software
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Nice-to-have:
- Experience on roads, subdivisions or civil infrastructure projects
- Exposure to GPS/GNSS, total stations and machine control systems
- Familiarity with Trimble, Leica, 12d Model or AutoCAD
