Reinsurance Accountant

• $120/130k + super / Hybrid model

A leading global insurer is seeking a skilled Reinsurance Accountant to join their Reinsurance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will manage reinsurance treaty accounting and administration working closely with the broader Finance team to support month-end reporting, statutory compliance, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reporting for the reinsurance function
• Calculate reinsurance treaty premium adjustments, reinstatement premiums and profit commissions
• Complete reporting schedules and local reporting requirements, including Withholding Tax returns and ABS Survey reinsurance components
• Prepare and review reinsurance statutory reports and schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting deadlines
• Reconcile debtor positions and oversee credit control, ensuring premiums are paid on time 
• Support audit queries and maintain controls across all reinsurance transactions
• Contribute to process improvement, automation and centralisation initiatives within the Reinsurance and wider Finance team

About You

• Experience in commercial insurance, preferably within reinsurance accounting or general insurance
• CA/CPA qualification - or working towards
• Advanced Excel skills, analytical skills, and the ability to manage ambiguity and competing deadlines
• Full working rights in Australia required
