Are you a hands-on Management Accountant who enjoys taking ownership, partnering with operational stakeholders, and having genuine influence on business performance?Hays is partnering with a well-established South Australian business operating within a manufacturing and distribution environment to recruit a Management Accountant. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role offers a broad mix of financial control, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, treasury, and project work.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys being close to the operations of a business, improving processes, and providing the commercial insights that support decision-making. The role will also play a key part in a major ERP implementation and ongoing business improvement initiatives.

Your new role

• Owning month-end processes, reconciliations, journals, and general ledger integrity.
• Preparing management reports, KPI dashboards, forecasts, and financial analysis.
• Supporting budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and working capital management.
• Managing tax and statutory reporting including BAS, PAYG, payroll tax, and FBT.
• Supporting audit requirements and liaising with external advisors.
• Providing financial guidance and support to operational leaders across the business.
• Contributing to ERP implementation activities, reporting enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
• Assisting with treasury activities, covenant reporting, insurance, and financial control

What you'll need to succeed

• CA or CPA qualification (or be nearing completion).
• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or Senior Finance role.
• Strong month-end reporting and financial control experience.
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and management reporting.
• Experience within manufacturing, distribution, FMCG, construction, industrial, or similarly operational environments.
• Strong understanding of Australian taxation and compliance requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with BI reporting tools.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with stakeholders across operations and finance.
• A proactive mindset and a desire to drive continuous improvement.
