Boarding Supervisor
Commencement: 6th October 2026
Employment Type: Term-time, fixed-term until 27 November 2026 (up to 32 rostered hours available per school week)
Availability: Applicants must be available to work flexible shifts including weekends, overnight shifts and Friday evenings.
Essential requirements: First Aid/CPR, Working with Children Blue Card and current Drivers Licence
Hourly pay rate: $36.94 gross per hour

Mount St Bernard College - Herberton
Mount St Bernard College is located at Herberton on the Atherton Tablelands. Established in 1921 by the Sisters of Mercy as a day and boarding school, the College enjoys a proud history and a rich tradition.
The Sisters of Mercy began their educational ministry in the Herberton district over 100 years ago with the opening of St Patrick’s Parish Catholic Primary School in 1910. Responding to the changing educational needs in Far North Queensland, the original Sisters of Mercy Boarding School, St Mary’s Cooktown, was moved to Herberton in 1921. The Sisters of Mercy gifted the college to the Diocese of Cairns in February 2006 and it is now administered by Cairns Catholic Education Services.
The college has approximately 140 students, many of which are First Nations Students, with a combination of boarders and day students.
About the Role
The Boarding Supervisor plays a key role in creating a safe, caring and supportive boarding environment where students are encouraged to thrive socially, emotionally, spiritually and academically. Through effective supervision, positive role modelling and collaboration with families and staff, the Boarding Supervisor supports students' wellbeing and development while contributing to the day-to-day operation of the boarding community. The role also provides additional support and supervision for identified students, implementing approved support strategies and routines that promote safety, inclusion, engagement and independence within the boarding environment.
Additional information: To support student wellbeing and supervision requirements:
- Male employees will be rostered within the boys' boarding house
- Female employees will be rostered within the girls' boarding house
Work Requirements
- Hold a Working with Children Blue Card
- Current first aid qualifications including CPR
- Current drivers licence
- Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education
- A current LR bus licence is desirable
