Service Manager | HVAC Industry | Onsite or 100% remote

The Company

Our client is a well-established Australian HVAC business that has been operating successfully for more than 25 years. With a large team, the company services a diverse customer base across the commercial and residential air conditioning sectors.

The business has developed a strong reputation for quality workmanship, reliable service and technical expertise. With continued growth and an established field service team, an opportunity has become available for an experienced HVAC professional to join the business in an onsite, hybrid or completely remote, work from home, management position.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to step away from the tools while continuing to utilise your technical HVAC knowledge in a key operational role.

Working from the office or entirely from home, you will oversee the technical and administrative aspects of the service department, ensuring field technicians have the support they need and customers receive a high standard of service.

The position combines technical troubleshooting, quoting, job management and customer communication, with a strong focus on keeping service operations running efficiently.

Key duties will include:

• Acting as a technical point of contact for field service technicians
• Assessing completed service reports and identifying required follow-up works
• Producing accurate quotations for repairs and replacement equipment
• Coordinating with technicians to resolve complex service and breakdown issues
• Managing customer enquiries and communicating recommended solutions
• Overseeing outstanding jobs, follow-up works and service documentation
• Liaising with suppliers regarding parts, equipment and warranty matters
• Working with the wider team to improve service processes and operational efficiency

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will come from a strong technical HVAC background and have the organisational ability to manage multiple service jobs, support technicians and communicate effectively with customers.

You may already be working in a Service Management or Supervisory position, or you could be a highly experienced Senior Service Technician, business owner or industry expert looking to transition into an office-based role without leaving the HVAC industry.

To be successful, you will have:

• A solid background in HVAC service, maintenance and fault diagnosis
• Strong knowledge of residential and commercial air conditioning equipment
• The ability to interpret technical reports and provide practical solutions
• Experience with service quoting, estimating or repair recommendations
• Excellent written communication and strong attention to detail
• Confidence working with computers, job management systems and general administration
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently
• A professional approach to customer service and supporting field technicians

Previous experience managing service teams, handling warranty claims or using HVAC service management software will be advantageous but is not essential.

This role would particularly suit an experienced HVAC technician who enjoys the technical and problem-solving side of the industry but is ready to move away from the physical demands of working on the tools.
