A07 Immediate Action Officer

Public Sector People are working with a QLD State Gov Department in Brisbane CBD, who are seeking an experienced Principal Immediate Action Officer (AO7)

This position combines leadership, risk assessment, regulatory compliance and stakeholder management within a fast-paced and highly sensitive environment.

The main focus will be to lead a specialist team responsible for assessing high-risk complaints and determining whether immediate regulatory action is required to protect public health and safety.
 
Overview:

• ASAP START | AO7 Principal Immediate Action Officer
• Attractive pay rates from $87 p/h + 12% Super (PAYG)
• QLD State Gov | Brisbane CBD
• Initial contract until Monday 8 February 2027
• Hybrid work arrangements available | up to 50% WFH

 
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Assess serious complaints and notifications to determine whether a practitioner or health service provider poses an immediate and serious risk to public health and safety.
• Provide expert advice and recommendations regarding immediate action decisions under relevant legislation.
• Review and analyse complex evidence, practitioner submissions and show cause responses to support appropriate decision-making.
• Prepare detailed reports, briefs, recommendations and regulatory documentation for consideration by senior decision-makers.

 
What we are looking for:

• Demonstrated experience within a regulatory, investigations, integrity, governance, legal, risk or compliance environment.
• Strong experience assessing complex and sensitive matters requiring evidence-based decision making.
• Leadership experience managing teams, workloads and competing priorities.
• Experience preparing complex reports, briefs, recommendations and executive-level documentation.
