About the opportunity 

The Salesforce Platform Engineering Manager will be responsible for the overall architecture for the extensive Salesforce platform at Australia Post across Sales, Service, Experience Clouds as well as core Salesforce supporting technology such as Mulesoft, Data360 and Agentforce. This senior role is responsible for overseeing the design, development, integration of scalable and secure Salesforce solutions that support critical business functions following best-practice approaches. This role is the lead member of the Salesforce Design Authority, delegated approver for the Salesforce Change Control Board, and a key Salesforce representative across business and governance forums.

This senior platform leadership role must work collaboratively alongside technology peers and programs/projects delivered by both internal teams and partners to provide leadership across the platform. The role champions best practices and enterprise thinking across Salesforce and includes the DevOps practice. This role will be supporting the Business Systems Team to ensure stability of the platform through periods of sustained technology change while maintaining high availability and operational stability.
 

You’ll also  

• Provide enterprise leadership for Salesforce technical platforms as a foundational enabler of Customer Experience and Corporate Transformation outcomes. 
• Set and enforce the target-state Salesforce technical and security direction, ensuring consistency across programs, portfolios, and business units.
• Continuous improvement of Salesforce platforms as secure, resilient, and scalable enterprise services capable of supporting Australia Post’s most critical business operations.
• Lead the technical transition from legacy landscapes to Salesforce solutions, balancing transformation velocity with operational resilience.
• Drive enterprise-level optimisation of Salesforce cloud consumption and platform spend, actively managing demand, capacity, and contractual commitments.
• Ensure strong financial governance across Salesforce platform services, including forecasting and budget accountability.

About you  

We're looking for a collaborative leader who can partner effectively across Architecture, Cyber Security, Infrastructure, and Delivery teams, while managing technical, security, and commercial risks across complex Salesforce environments. You'll thrive in large-scale transformation programs, balancing competing priorities, delivery timelines, and stakeholder expectations to achieve strong business outcomes.
 

You’ll also need  

• 10+ years’ experience leading Salesforce technical platforms within large, complex, enterprise environments undergoing significant transformation.
• Demonstrated leadership across Salesforce platform teams, including 7+ years leading engineering practices specifically.
• Proven experience operating Salesforce platforms that support mission-critical, customer-facing and corporate functions.
• Deep functional understanding of Salesforce technical domains including Salesforce Security (GRC and Identity).
• Strong experience managing strategic vendor relationships to deliver outcomes, including Salesforce, system integrators, and managed service providers.
• In-depth knowledge of Salesforce’s current and emerging product strategy, including Data360, Agentforce and Agentforce Voice.
