About the role
My client is a well-established residential home builder with a strong reputation in the Perth new homes market. They are seeking an experienced Residential Building Approvals Coordinator to take ownership of council approvals and build-related communications across a portfolio of new home builds.
Working closely with local councils, developers, and internal stakeholders, you will play an important role in ensuring approvals are managed efficiently and projects remain on track.

Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and assist with the preparation and submission of Certificates of Design Compliance, building permits, utility applications and other required approvals
- Manage approval timeframes and monitor KPIs across a portfolio of new home builds
- Liaise with local councils, utility providers and land developers regarding outstanding requirements and approvals
- Ensure approvals data is accurate and up to date across internal systems
- Work closely with Sales, Drafting and Design teams to ensure compliant building solutions are delivered
- Provide guidance and support to team members regarding approval processes and requirements
- Assist with training and upskilling Shire Liaison team members
- Identify potential approval issues and work proactively to keep projects progressing
About you
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a similar Shire Coordinator, Shire Liaison, Building Approvals or residential construction role
- Residential construction or local council experience
- Sound knowledge of building permit processes and local council requirements
- A Cert IV in Building & Construction (Contract Administration) or equivalent industry experience is highly regarded
- Strong administration and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communication skills and the ability to liaise with councils, developers and internal stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a small team
- Competent with Microsoft Office and industry-specific construction software
