Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret building plans, drawings, and specifications to determine carpentry requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other building materials using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Construct and install timber frameworks, wall frames, roof structures, and flooring components.
- Perform lock-up carpentry, including installing doors, windows, frames, and associated fittings.
- Carry out fixing and fit-off works, including installing skirting boards, architraves, trims, and internal fixtures.
- Install external cladding, eaves, fascia boards, decking, pergolas, and other timber structures.
- Undertake carpentry works for new constructions, renovations, extensions, and repair projects.
- Inspect completed carpentry works and ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with building standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in safe and efficient working condition.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and coordinate with supervisors and other tradespeople to complete projects on time.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience working as a Carpenter.
- Good knowledge of timber framing, lock-up, fixing, fit-off, and general carpentry techniques.
- Experience in residential, commercial, or renovation construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in using carpentry hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, punctual, physically fit, and able to work independently or within a team.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and building standards.
