The Role:
The role provides expert advice and undertakes tasks on a range of programs that informs the management of urban growth and development in South Australia. The key focus areas for this role includes:
- Managing data (including spatial data) required for monitoring urban and regional development activity, demographic trends and socio-economic outcomes.
- Preparing data and information products in response to queries about population, housing, land and urban development.
- Preparing information to support population, housing and land supply forecasts for South Australia and its regions.
- Researching housing and urban development trends.
The role reports to the Manager Growth Monitoring and Forecasting and will liaise extensively with executive and senior management and provides support and guidance to less experienced professional and administrative staff. It will also involve providing advice to Minister and State Planning Commission on matters relevant to the role.
About You:
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
- Excellent knowledge of land and housing development processes in South Australia (desirable)
- Knowledge of methods and procedures for projecting population, housing and land supply at various geographic scales (desirable).
- Excellent knowledge of spatial information systems and analysis techniques (desirable)
- Advanced analytical and research skills to evaluate complex information, provide expert advice and communications, and develop clear correspondence and reports with recommendations for time critical deadlines.
- Ability to access and interpret data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics and other sources.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and innovation by challenging assumptions and established views and generating ideas to deliver goals more effectively.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to meet deadlines and competing demands.
- Proven ability to work under limited direction, independently or as part of a team, identify performance outcomes, plan and coordinate activities, set priorities, achieve objectives within deadlines and make timely and well-informed decisions.
Special Conditions
Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal may be required every 3 years.
Remuneration:
ASO6 – $105,747– $111,854 max plus superannuation.
