Chinova Resources Pty Ltd is a private Australian mining, exploration, development, and processing company operating primarily in Queensland’s North West Minerals Province. The company owns and manages significant copper, gold, molybdenum, and rhenium projects, including the Osborne Processing Plant, Mount Elliott, and the Merlin deposit. Chinova is committed to safe, efficient, and sustainable mining operations while delivering long-term value to shareholders, employees, and stakeholders.
As the business continues to develop its mining operations and resource projects, Chinova Resources is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the company's financial management and provide strategic financial guidance to support its ongoing operations, project development and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing, implementing and reviewing financial and accounting strategies, policies, budgets and financial plans in consultation with senior management.
- Leading the company's budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes across mining operations, development projects and corporate activities.
- Directing the preparation and review of financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow forecasts and management reports.
- Providing senior management with financial analysis and advice on business performance, funding requirements, costs, profitability and financial risks.
- Assessing the financial viability of capital expenditure proposals, mining projects and other operational investments to support informed business decisions.
- Managing cash flow, funding requirements and financial resources to support the company's ongoing operations and future development activities.
- Advising management on financing and investment strategies, sources of funding and the effective allocation of financial resources.
- Overseeing the development, implementation and ongoing effectiveness of accounting systems, financial controls and reporting procedures.
- Monitoring financial performance against approved budgets and forecasts, identifying material variances and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensuring the company's financial and accounting activities comply with applicable accounting standards, taxation requirements, financial legislation and internal governance requirements.
- Managing and providing leadership to the finance and accounting function and coordinating with external auditors, accountants, financial institutions and other professional advisers as required.
Skills and Experience Required
·Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field is preferred.
·At least 5-year proven experience in financial management or a senior finance leadership role. Experience in the mining, resources or other capital-intensive industries is preferred.
·Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow management and financial analysis.
·Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and ability to provide strategic financial advice to senior management.
·Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
