About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer (Endpoint / Workplace) to join a large enterprise environment, with a key focus on SCCM to Microsoft Intune migration, endpoint management and enterprise patching.
This is a hands-on technical role for someone with strong experience across Microsoft SCCM / Configuration Manager and Intune, particularly within environments transitioning from traditional SCCM-based management to modern Intune endpoint management.
A major focus will be patching and endpoint compliance, ensuring Windows devices and applications remain secure, current and effectively managed across a large, distributed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a key role in the migration and transition from SCCM to Microsoft Intune.
- Assess and transition existing SCCM applications, configurations, policies and workloads into Intune.
- Manage and improve enterprise-wide patching, including Windows updates, security patches, application patching, compliance and remediation.
- Manage application packaging, software deployment and endpoint configurations across SCCM and Intune.
- Configure and maintain Intune policies, profiles, applications and endpoint management capabilities.
- Troubleshoot SCCM, Intune, deployment and patching issues across a large enterprise environment.
- Develop and maintain operating system deployments and endpoint configurations.
- Use PowerShell and automation to improve deployment, patching and endpoint management processes.
- Test and validate hardware, drivers, BIOS and firmware updates.
- Work with project and operational teams on endpoint migration, transition and workplace technology initiatives.
- Support the successful transition of new technologies and services into BAU operations.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SCCM / Configuration Manager.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and modern endpoint management.
- Demonstrated experience with SCCM to Intune migration, transition or co-management.
- Strong experience with enterprise patch management, including Windows and application patching, security updates, compliance and remediation.
- Strong knowledge of Windows endpoint infrastructure, deployment and management.
- Experience with application packaging and software deployment.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Experience troubleshooting complex endpoint, deployment and patching issues.
- Experience working within a large enterprise or geographically distributed environment.
- Previous experience within retail or another large distributed environment would be highly regarded.
- Experience delivering migration and transition projects through to BAU.
