SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER - FLOOD MODELLER
Technical input that informs approvals and development outcomes

We're seeking a Senior Flood Engineer / Modeller with strong technical judgement who wants to work on projects where modelling outcomes directly influence planning and approval decisions.

This role goes beyond model preparation. You will contribute to flood studies and development‑driven assessments where accuracy, defensibility, and professional judgement are critical. The work spans urban development and catchment‑scale analysis across Queensland, with close integration into civil and urban design teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver hydrologic and hydraulic modelling using TUFLOW
  • Contribute to flood studies, impact assessments, and drainage strategies
  • Apply ARR guidelines within practical development and approvals contexts
  • Support projects through planning and regulatory processes
  • Work collaboratively with civil engineers, planners, and urban development teams
  • Gradually take greater ownership of modelling scope, reporting, and technical inputs

Project Environment
Be involved in a broad range of QLD-based projects, including urban development, infrastructure‑adjacent works, and complex catchments.

About the Team
The consultancy is established and growing steadily, with a consistent pipeline of work across the state. The environment is technical, collaborative, and structured to support skill development, making it well suited to engineers looking to strengthen both capability and long‑term professional standing.
Why This Role

  • Modelling work that directly influences approvals and design outcomes
  • Strong emphasis on technical quality and sound engineering judgement
  • Broader exposure to multidisciplinary project delivery
  • Clear scope for increased responsibility and client involvement over time
